TCU fans had to be disappointed as Auburn put the finishing touches on an impressive win over South Carolina in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday. By the time Cam Newton came out of the game midway through the fourth quarter, Oregon had already beaten Oregon State and the BCS Championship Game pairing was solidified.

So later today, TCU should receive official word that they are headed to the Rose Bowl to face Wisconsin. Think about how far the TCU program has come from 10 years ago.

Last year, when the TCU football team watched the BCS bowl selection show, they had to feel some disappointment in playing Boise State for the second straight season. But that should not be the case tonight. No, they won't be playing for a national title. But Wisconsin in a big-time opponent in a big-time bowl.

TCU has now made two consecutive BCS bowls and get a chance to play a top program with a national audience watching. Embrace that, TCU. Gary Patterson and his team should learn from last year's bowl loss on a big stage and be ready for a very impressive Wisconsin team. It should be a great game.
