Horned Frogs gain ground in BCS rankings

TCU was No. 3 in the BCS heading into the weekend, but part of the higher BCS ranking came from the computers. Now, TCU is moving up in the human polls, too.

A 47-7 whipping of Utah, BCS No. 5, on the road got the attention of the voters. TCU is No. 3 in the AP and USA Today polls. They also moved up to No. 3 in the Harris poll, which is part of the formula used to determine the BCS standings. TCU is behind Oregon and Auburn, jumping ahead of Boise State. The Broncos still got 9 first-place votes in the Harris poll (TCU has 5), but the Horned Frogs moved up on overall points.

TCU remained No. 3 in the latest BCS standings released Sunday night. But, the Frogs narrowed the points gap on No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Auburn, while stretching their lead on No. 4 Boise State.
