According to a projection done by ESPN's Brad Edwards, if the BCS standings were released today, TCU would be No. 3 and Oklahoma would be No. 4.

Boise State, TCU's fellow BCS buster, would be No. 1 in the standings, according to Edwards' projection. Oregon would be No. 2.

Surprisingly, Ohio State, the consensus No. 1 team in the major polls, only projects to be No. 5 in the BCS standings.

The computers haven't been impressed with the Buckeyes' strength of schedule. That can change, however, over the course of the season.

The first official BCS standings of the season will be released on Sunday on the "BCS Countdown Show" at 7:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.
