TCU's title hopes decided tonight?
Call it the residual effect of losing to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl after last season. Boise State is ranked ahead of TCU. Because they face a top-10 team in Virginia Tech, it's extremely unlikely that TCU would leapfrog Boise State in the rankings this year if both teams go undefeated.
If TCU doesn't get ahead of Boise State, they won't be playing for a national championship. Could Boise State lose later this season? Anything is possible, but that's very doubtful. The toughest opponent they have left is Oregon State, though they get the Beavers on the blue turf in Boise. The Broncos will be favored in every game they play after tonight and it would be a huge upset if they lose a conference game.
So TCU needs Virginia Tech to beat the Broncos or any hope at a national title is probably over. Any predictions for toinght?
