AP poll: How TCU arrived at No. 6
The TCU Horned Frogs came in at No. 6 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll released Saturday. It is the highest preseason ranking ever for the Frogs.
But, how'd the votes fall to get them there?
The website Pollspeak.com breaks down how the sports writers voted. According to the site, TCU received one vote as high as No. 2 and one as low as No. 11, and multiple votes in every spot in between. Pete DiPrimio of the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel gave the Frogs their lone vote at No. 2., and Craig James, the ABC/ESPN analyst, was the lone voter to rank TCU at No. 11. (For the record, James did not rank his alma mater, up-and-coming SMU).
How some other notables voted the Frogs:
*Kirk Herbstreit and Dan Fowler, ESPN's GameDay -- No. 8
*Andy Staples, Sports Illustrated -- No. 6
*Kirk Bohls, Austin American-Statesman -- No. 4
*Joe Giglio, The News & Observer of Raliegh -- voted TCU No. 10. He was the lone writer to cast a No. 1 vote for Boise State.
