OMAHA, Neb. -- Gerrit Cole has been remarkable for UCLA and has kept TCU off the scoreboard through five innings.

The Frogs have a single hit off of Cole, who has had eight strikeouts to only one walk.

TCU's lineup, which came into tonight's game with every hitter batting over .305, has been kept off balance consistently all game. The Bruins' 5-0 lead is insurmountable if Cole continues to command his pitches like this.

Frogs reliever Paul Gerrish has been very good since coming into the game as well. Gerrish has allowed one hit with two strikeouts through 2 1/3 innings.

The fans in the left field seats launched a coordinated beach ball assault after the fifth inning, launching dozens of beach balls through the crowd, and largely onto left field. The grounds crew scooped up the balls without delay, and we're into the top of the sixth.
