Remaining Big 12 teams on the clock
Now that Colorado has bolted for the Pac 10 and Nebraska has, according to reports, taken off for the Big 10, it all comes down to what Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State want to do.
OK, really it comes down to Texas. There is a board of regents meeting on Tuesday to determine their course of action. Do they go to the Pac 10, likely taking all of the above schools with them, and end the Big 12 as we know it today? Do they try to save the conference?
That's not to say that it's simply about the Longhorns. Does Texas A&M decide it's better off breaking away from Texas and going to a place like the SEC?
In case you've missed any of the ESPNDallas.com coverage, be sure and check out some thoughts on the potential ramifications for the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry should the teams end up in different conferences. We also discussed whether going to the SEC is a good idea for A&M. The Mountain West Conference expanded with Boise State, but are they done? BTW, you can read TCU's reaction to Boise State's inclusion in the MWC here.
We knew this was coming, but now that it's official, all eyes are on Texas. Once they decide, the other dominos fall from there. Stay tuned.
