FORT WORTH -- I got a chance to sit down with TCU coach Gary Patterson late Thursday afternoon and talk about the 2009 season and his thoughts going into spring practice for 2010. Click here for the interview.

A few quick highlights:

* He thinks his football team will use the Fiesta Bowl loss as motivation and he talks about what he would have done differently.

* Patterson said Andre Dean is moving to safety. "We like his size and tried him there in December and had great results," Patterson said. "It's not that he's not a good tailback. But with the rotation, instead of 12 plays a game, he can play 60."

* He voted TCU No. 4 in his final poll.

* Zach Roth is a strong candidate to replace Marshall Newhouse on the offensive line.
