SMU's Sanders in East-West Shrine Game

December, 28, 2009
SMU wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will play in the 85th East-West Shrine game on Jan. 23, 2010, in Orlando, Fla.

Sanders was SMU's career leader in receptions, touchdown catches and yards. He had seven catches for 124 yards in SMU's 45-10 win over Nevada in the Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24.

Sanders is the second SMU athlete to play in the game the last two years. Thomas Morstead, now punting for the New Orleans Saints, played in the game in 2009.
Richard Durrett joined in September 2009. He writes about colleges, the Dallas Stars and the Texas Rangers. Richard spent nine years at The Dallas Morning News covering the Rangers, Stars, colleges, motorsports and high schools.
