Video: Edes on Gonzo, trade talk and more
March, 15, 2011
Our own Gordon Edes spent a half inning in the ESPN broadcast booth last night with Dan Shulman, Bobby Valentine, and Orel Hershiser to discuss some hot Sox topics, including where Adrian Gonzalez might hit in the lineup and whether the team would consider any trades before Opening Day. Edes' story that the team might be inclined to listen to offers for Tim Wakefield, Mike Cameron, Mike Cameron and Marco Scutaro caused a bit of a stir, and was refuted by Sox GM Theo Epstein.
"I'm not suggesting the Red Sox are trying to peddle off any of these guys," Edes said, "but of course they're going to listen on any of these guys, including Mike Cameron, who looks great this spring. I know he's 38, but are you telling me a team in need of an outfielder wouldn't inquire about him?"
