Lackey's wife played role in decision
BOSTON -- Whether intentional or not, Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein took a moment to allow newly signed John Lackey to introduce his family members, including wife, Krista, who accompanied him to his introductory press conference Wednesday at Fenway Park.
It sure looked like shades of Leigh Teixeira at her husband's introduction last year in the Bronx?
"We should thank Krista, who played a role in John's interest with the Red Sox, " said Epstein. "She went to the University of New Hampshire, so she helped out. Thanks, Krista."
Lackey dubbed all of his family members, "converted Red Sox fans."
