ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Red Sox received a big-time scare in the top of the 11th inning against the Texas Rangers on Friday when catcher Victor Martinez fouled a ball off his right foot and was clearly in a lot of pain.

Manager Terry Francona and team trainer Greg Barajas attended to him, but Martinez remained in the game. Martinez said he was fine after the Sox lost 10-9 in 11 innings.

Martinez is back in the lineup tonight.

“My guess is it probably hurts,” Francona said. “I said, ‘How does it feel?’ and he said, ‘What?’ So in other words: 'Let’s go, it’s time to play.'”
