Saltalamacchia arrives

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- The newest member of the Boston Red Sox organization has arrived.

Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia made his Triple-A debut with the PawSox on Monday night after the Red Sox acquired him in a trade with the Texas Rangers last Saturday. Boston GM Theo Epstein has been scouting "Salty" for the last few seasons, and Saltalamacchia is excited to have an opportunity with a new organization.

“I’m excited for a fresh start,” he said. “There’s a lot to look forward to and I’m just excited to be here. I’m going to learn as much as I can, take this all in and use every opportunity I get.”
