Red Sox will honor Nomar next Wednesday

The Red Sox will honor former shortstop Nomar Garciaparra at Fenway Park during a pregame ceremony before next Wednesday's game against the Angels, the team announced Friday.

Those participating in the ceremonies will be Garciaparra, members of his family, and members of the Red Sox ownership and front office.

This spring, Garciaparra signed a one-day contract with the Red Sox so he could retire with the team. He is now and ESPN baseball analyst.
