SARASOTA, Fla. -- Outfielder Jeremy Hermida left today's game in the top of the third inning with tightness in his right hamstring.

Manager Terry Francona said after the game that the injury didn't seem serious but "it didn't seem like a good thing to keep him in the game."

Hermida had been playing left field and batting fifth. He singled with one out in the second inning but was stranded on first base. He said that he felt tightness while running to second on Josh Reddick's two-out, lineout to center field.

Hermida, who has appeared in 15 games this spring and in 38 at-bats is hitting .447, didn't take the field after that, replaced by Mitch Dening.
