BOSTON – Less than 24 hours after throwing a 32-pitch simulated game Tuesday at Fenway Park, Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz said he is feeling good.

“The good thing is he has normal stiffness from getting some extension he’s not used to, but no repercussions or anything, which is really good news,” said Red Sox manger Terry Francona.

He’s scheduled to throw another session either Thursday or Friday. If he continues to progress, it’s possible he could pitch in some capacity the final series of the season in Baltimore early next week.

“In fairness to him we’re going to take it one step at a time,” Francona said. “The good news is he feels really good. If he can pitch, that’ll be a big bonus.”
