Right-handed pitcher Matt Albers was activated from the 15-day disabled list and will be available for the Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels, the Boston Red Sox announced Thursday.

Albers went hitless in two innings for the Red Sox before he was placed on the DL on April 6 with a right latissimus strain. In two rehab appearances with Triple-A Pawtucket, the 28-year-old allowed one hit and struck out two in 3 innings.

The Red Sox also sent right-hander Alfredo Aceves to Pawtucket following Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Oakland Athletics. Aceves, who was recalled from Pawtucket on April 8, has a 2.25 ERA with 5 strikeouts over 8 innings in six games with the Red Sox.
